With iOS 5 came the change of the iPod app from the beautiful orange and white iPod icon called iPod to the ugly burnt orange and brown (burgundy) music note icon called Music. Why would Apple do this? I feel like Apple should change it back. With the iPod line slowly (I’ll admit slower than most thought it would) fading away and heading to the background of Apple’s line up, they should remind people of what got them to this point to begin with. Steve Jobs got up on stage in 2007 and said “An iPod, a phone, and an internet communicator,” and I see the Phone app on my iPhone, I see internet communication tools (Mail, Safari, Weather, etc.), but where the hell is ANY iPod reference. I understand that you want cohesion between iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad and you don’t want to have an iPod icon on an iPod, but Apple already does things that differentiates the products. Why not allow the iPad and iPhone to have the iPod app and the iPod to have all the sorted media icons. Just a little nit-picky thought.
